Canadian Permanent Residents Figures

Here are the latest figures (2006) published by Citizenship and Immigration Canada.

Those figures show how Canada is involved in Immigration, taking advantage of the human value. We can notice that there had been a huge increase in live-in caregivers in accordance with the lack of workforce in this field. The number of refugees has also increased for 3 years.

This figure doesn’t take into consideration the “eco-refugees” (environmental refugees) whom are looking for better lives due to deforestations, global warming or natural catastrophes. By the way I bet on a creation of a particular category for those kind of immigrants soon…

    I heard that 200 billon of eco-refugees would ask for asylum within the next 20 years… It’s time to consider global warming effects I guess…
