More than a 50 year love affair……

When you think Canada, you automatically think hockey. Ice hockey is Canada’s national game and its greatest contribution to world sport.

When it starts getting cold outside, there’s nothing better than sharing a couple of beers between friends and watching a good hockey game. Every Saturday night, millions of Canadians go to the corner store to buy ‘une caisse de 24’ (Quebec’s slang for a box of 24 cans of beer) and tune in to the greatest hockey show of all time: Hockey night in Canada! From coast to coast, CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) has been broadcasting this national passion for over 50 years. As it were, the night, the sport and the company has become a real tradition amongst Canadian families.

This year, CBC celebrates Hockey night in Canada’s 50th anniversary. For those that are missing out, here is a little taste of it over the years:

CBC stands for Canadian Broadcasting Corporation - not Channel.
