PROVINCIAL NOMINEE – PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND PROVINCIAL NOMINEE PROGRAM

The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) nominates individuals it deems likely to make a positive contribution to the province. Applicants are assessed on criteria set by the Office of Immigration within the Labour Impact and Business Impact Categories. The PEI PNP establishes nomination targets for each category under the program based on the province’s priorities.

PEI PNP PROGRAMS

PEI PNP EXPRESS ENTRY – aligned with federal Express Entry system

Candidates already in the Express Entry pool can submit an Expression of Interest to the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP). This form requires an Express Entry profile with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada in order to be completed and submitted. PEI PNP will extend invitations to apply to select candidates on the basis of the province’s economic needs. There is no application fee associated with the PEI PNP Expression of Interest.

Business Impact

100% OWNERSHIP

You may be eligible if you obtain 100% control of a business through the outright purchase of an existing business or the start of a new business in Prince Edward Island.

PARTIAL OWNERSHIP

You may be eligible if you wish to transition into the Prince Edward Island business community by becoming a part owner in a business.

WORK PERMIT

You may be eligible if you wish to transition in a more timely fashion to start a new life and business utilizing a work permit to enter Canada and begin the journey. The Work Permit program will allow applicants to come to PEI and begin working and learning about the business they will be investing in prior to nomination by the province of Prince Edward Island.

Labour Impact

SKILLED WORKER

You may be eligible if you have a valid job offer from an eligible Prince Edward Island employer. The job must be categorized as National Occupational Classification (NOC) Skill Type 0 or Skill Level A or B. You must also have a post-secondary degree or diploma, and experience in the intended profession.

CRITICAL WORKER

You may be eligible if you have a valid job offer from an eligible Prince Edward Island employer. The job must be categorized as National Occupational Classification (NOC) Skill Level C or D. The job offer must also be in one of five eligible industries: truck drivers, customer service representatives, labourers, food and beverage servers, and housekeeping attendants. You must also have at least 12 years of education, and experience in the intended profession.

INTERNATIONAL GRADUATE

You may be eligible if you are a recent graduate from a recognized, accredited PEI university or college. You must have a valid job offer from an eligible Prince Edward Island employer for whom you have been working for at least six months on a valid post-graduate work permit. The job must be classified as National Occupational Classification (NOC) Skill Type 0, or Skill Level A or B.
