An application to the Saskatchewan Express Entry stream represents an entirely separate application from submitting your profile to the Express Entry pool, or from eventually submitting an application for permanent residence, if you receive an invitation to do so.
Due to the popularity of the program, and the limited number of applications that are accepted, this stream usually closes quickly. Therefore, it’s important to prepare your application well in advance, so you’re prepared to submit as soon as the program opens.
If your application is successful, you will receive a provincial nomination from the province of Saskatchewan, allowing you to claim 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points. These 600 points virtually guarantee that you will receive an invitation to apply (ITA) for permanent residence in the next Express Entry draw.
The most recent Express Entry draw took place today, January 10, 2018, and the minimum required CRS score to receive an ITA was 446. In fact, with the exception of some program-specific draws, the minimum required CRS has not surpassed 600 points since the first few draws of 2015!
