The end of 2018 marks another year of growth for the Canadim Law Firm, and our eighteenth year of business in Montreal, Canada. At such moments, I like to take the time to pause, reflect, and be thankful for the people and the successes we have in our lives.
At this time of year, I appreciate being able to spend time with family and friends. As a former newcomer to Canada myself, being able to be surrounded by my family is something I do not take for granted, and the holiday season in Canada always reminds me of the generosity of my fellow Canadians.
Fortunately, the value of family togetherness is one I share with all Canadians. Even in immigration, this is reflected in processing times for family sponsorship cases, which have been slashed by half since 2017. At Canadim, we share in this government’s goals of keeping families together.
2018 was an incredible year for Canadian immigration. Not only did Canada strengthen its commitment to family reunification, but the government recently announced its plan for welcoming over one million newcomers by 2021.
It has also been an exceptional year for Express Entry immigration to Canada. Applications are being processed in a matter of months, and the Canadian market is in its best position to receive them with job availability and increasing budgets for newcomer services. These successes pave the way for welcoming many more new Canadians with each coming year.
We just recently saw another significant move in Canadian immigration these past few days. Canada has signed onto the United Nations Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration. As a signatory, Canada pledges our commitment to cooperating with other countries on issues of international immigration, including improving refugee processes for vulnerable women and children.
Most importantly, 2018 has been a success because of the many ambitious and talented workers, families and students we have been able to work with. It is our goal to continue serving you efficiently, with immigration expertise, and proven results! Thank you for 18 years of immigration business. We wish you a happy and safe holiday wherever you may be, and we look forward to many more years of shared immigration success with Canadim.
