You may be eligible for the Northwest Territories Nomination Program (NWTNP) Express Entry Stream if you are a skilled worker in the federal Express Entry pool with a job offer from a Northwest Territories employer and wish to work and live in the province.



Meeting the criteria listed below does not guarantee a nomination or permanent residence.


As a candidate, you must:

  • Be in the Express Entry pool
  • Provide language test results demonstrating language proficiency matching the level declared in your Express Entry profile.
  • Have a job offer of indeterminate, full-time employment from an eligible Northwest Territories employer in an occupation classified as National Occupational Classification (NOC) Skill Type 0 or Skill Level A or B for which you are qualified.
  • Demonstrate that you meet minimum income requirements and/or settlement funds to support yourself and your family in Northwest Territories
    • Minimum income requirements are set by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
  • If you currently live in the Northwest Territories, you must provide proof of legal status.
  • Have expressed interest in settling permanently in the Northwest Territories


As a Northwest Territories employer, you must:

  • Be registered as a business, industry association, or a local, municipal, First Nation or Territorial Government, in the Northwest Territories
  • Have been registered and operational for at least six months
  • Be in good standing with the Northwest Territories’ Worker’s Safety and Compensation Commission and the Northwest Territories’ Employment Standards office
  • Submit a copy of a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA), if applicable
