Express Entry #129 | 3,900 ITAs Issued

3,900 Express Entry candidates will receive invitations to apply for Canadian permanent residence in the 129th Express Entry draw on October 30th, 2019. The minimum CRS cut-off score for this draw has increased to 475. However, as the previous draw was federal skilled trades-specific, today’s jump in score is not surprising.

Increased CRS Score After Federal Skilled Trades Draw

The 129th Express Entry draw saw an increase in minimum CRS cut-off to 475. Although this score is higher than we have seen in previous weeks, it is important to note that the last round was specific to candidates who had an active profile through the Federal Skilled Trades program.  The trade-specific draw issued 500 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) with a minimum CRS score of 357. If upcoming draws continue to include all three programs of the Federal Express Entry system, we can anticipate that the cut-off will drop to what we have seen in previous rounds that were not program-specific.

Today’s draw invited 3,900 applicants and their families to apply for permanent residence, bringing the total number of ITAs issued in 2019 to 71,700. As well, this continues to be the largest number of invitations issued this year. Just this month, the IRCC had increased the number of ITAs from 3,600, which we had seen from July to September, to 3,900!

With Canada’s continued push towards more than one million newcomers to be welcomed in the next few years, we can expect that the number of ITAs issued each draw will continue to be large. If you are interested in making Canada your forever home, now is the best time to take the first step!
