  • Number of Invitations Issued: 3,611
  • Minimum CRS: 441

Lowest Ever CRS Score

The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System score required to receive an ITA dropped below 450 for the second time ever in the 55th draw. At 441, this is the lowest minimum CRS score since the program was launched in 2015. The second lowest, at 447, was just two weeks ago.

The size of this draw has dropped very slightly since the last one. This could be an indication that the rapid increases in draw size we’ve been seeing since the beginning of 2017 is ending.

This is good news for candidates in the Express Entry pool. Last November, the IRCC made changes to the CRS that we predicted would lead to a decrease in the score needed to receive an ITA. For each draw, the IRCC specifies the number of ITAs it will issue, and works its way through the candidates in the pool, starting with the highest-ranking candidates. While draw sizes continued to grow, it was natural the the minimum CRS would decrease. However, that the CRS continued to drop even though the draw size has decreased could mean that the composition of candidates in the pool has actually changed.
