Immigration Update Feb. 24, 2017

The International Masters Graduate Stream reached its registration intake limit on February 23, 2017. The stream is now temporarily paused, but will reopen again within the next three months. If you completed a registration for this stream and received a confirmation number from the OINP e-Filing system, you can continue with your application.

Last week, the OINP announced that the three streams would soon reopen under a new online application system. As of today, they are accepting new applications from eligible candidates under the International Masters Graduate Stream and the International PhD Graduate Stream, both of which operate outside of the federal Express Entry system. The programs will open and close periodically throughout the year, and operate on a first-come, first-served model.

Please note that the International Masters Graduate Stream is now open to applicants living in Manitoba and abroad.

The two OINP streams aligned with Express Entry, Human Capital Priorities and French-Speaking Skilled Workers, are also both now open. The OINP will issue Notifications of Interest (NOI) to candidates in the Express Entry pool who meet eligibility criteria for either stream. You cannot submit an application under these programs unless you have received a NOI.

The OINP has a federal allocation of 6,000 nominations for 2017. That allocation will be split among the streams that the OINP operates based on the demand for each of the programs.

New Online Application System for OINP

The OINP has launched a new e-Filing Portal called ONe-key. Applicants will be able to check the status of their application through their ONe-key account. If you’re registered for more than one OINP stream, you can manage all of your applications from this account.
