Human Capital Priorities Stream

Earlier this month, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) released a list of 15 prioritized occupations for their Express Entry Human Capital Priorities stream. They also announced that they would be searching through the Express Entry pool for eligible candidates, and issuing Notifications of Interest to those candidates inviting them to apply to the stream.

Candidates who receive a Notification of Interest must register a profile on the province’s e Filing Portal within six months. Once registered, they have 14 days to submit their complete application. If that application is successful, they will receive a provincial nomination and 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points on their Express Entry profile. This virtually guarantees that they will receive an Invitation to Apply for Canadian permanent residence in the next Express Entry draw.

Registration Paused

Due to the popularity of the program, the Human Capital Priority Stream has reached its registration limit. As of July 25, 2017, no more candidates can register a profile on the province’s e Filing Portal even if they received a Notification of Interest. The province has also temporarily paused issuing any additional Notifications of Interest to candidates in the Express Entry pool. Candidates who received a Notification of Interest and already successfully registered a profile must still submit their complete application to the stream with 14 days of registering.

Reaching the registration limit for the program is not the same as reaching the application intake limit. Once all currently registered candidates submit their applications, the province will have a better idea of how many more applications they can accept, at which time the program will likely reopen.

If you’re eligible for this stream and have received a Notification of Interest, you must still submit your application within six months of receiving the Notification.
