British Columbia Invites Tech Candidates in Latest Draw
Published on: October 20th, 2021

In their most recent draw, British Columbia invited 85 candidates eligible under the BCPNP Tech program to apply for nomination.

Candidates invited in BCPNP’s most recent draw had previously submitted an Expression of Interest (EOI) through BCPNP’s online portal. Eligible BCPNP Tech candidates hold a job offer in one of the province’s 29 eligible tech occupations in addition to meeting the requirements for one of BCPNP’s Skills or Express Entry Immigration streams.

After targeting a minimum score of 80 for most of the year, this Tech draw targeted candidates with a SIRS score of at least 75. This also follows BCPNP’s previous Tech draw, which targeted some of the lowest points cut-off ever seen in a draw of its kind.

This year, B.C. has invited 1,581 candidates under the BCPNP Tech program. In 2020, a total of 1,855 nominations were issued to BCPNP Tech candidates and made up 30% of all Skills Immigration nominations.

October 19th BCPNP draw results: 85 invitations

In the most recent Tech draw, BCPNP targeted a minimum SIRS score of 75; this is the second-lowest score targeted all year.

Express Entry BC categories (EEBC) minimum SIRS score:

  • Skilled Worker: 75
  • International Graduate: 75

BC Skills Immigration categories minimum SIRS score:

  • Skilled Worker: 75
