In response to the escalating health crisis presented by the coronavirus (COVID-19), Quebec’s Ministry of Immigration, Francisation and Integration (MIFI) has put in place a number of measures in order to protect the health of the public and stop the spread of the virus.
All French language courses which previously took place in classrooms and community centers have been suspended until further notice.
While courses are on hold, the benefits students have been receiving through the Programme d’aide financière pour la francisation des immigrants (PAFILI) will continue to be paid out until the end of the suspension of classes for full-time students and up until the end of the session for part-time students.
The office of the Registrar of the Francisation program will be closed until further notice.
All information sessions on the subject of Quebec integration (Objectif intégration) and first settlement steps (Premières démarches d’installation) have also been suspended until further notice.
Also, all recruitment activities that were planned under the Journées Québec will be postponed.
The Quebec government will continue to take the necessary measures to ensure the health and safety of all citizens. We will keep you updated as things unfold.
