Dates of Express Entry profiles considered: October 7, 2020 – October 7, 2021
CRS score range: 459-467
Number of invitations: 162

How can I be invited in the French-Speaking stream?

Throughout the year, OINP invites French-speaking candidates directly from the Express Entry pool to apply for nomination. In addition to meeting the minimum Express Entry requirements to submit a profile, candidates must also meet the following:

  • Have a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree;
  • Provide French language results at a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 7 in each area of the exam;
  • Provide English language results with a minimum of CLB 6 in each area of the exam;
  • Have legal status in Canada, if applying from within the country; and
  • Intend to reside in Ontario upon becoming a permanent resident

If a candidate meets these requirements, and the CRS requirements of the draw, they may be issued a Notification of Interest (NOI) of their Express Entry profile.

Applying to Ontario’s French-Speaking stream

Candidates who received a notification of interest on their Express Entry profile must subsequently submit an application to Ontario via the OINP online portal within 45 calendars days. At submission, candidates must then remit a non-refundable application fee of $1,500 CAD.

After receiving a nomination, a candidates’ CRS score will increase by 600 points, essentially guaranteeing an Invitation to Apply for permanent residence.
