According to the latest Anholt-Ipsos Nation Brands Index, Canada ranks as the second-best country in the world, just behind Germany.
The index ranks 60 different countries based on governance, friendliness, culture, and quality of life. Canada has consistently ranked in the top three in Ipsos’s Nation Brand Index rating; however, this is our first time in second place, overtaking the United Kingdom for the position.
Canada received first place rankings on the governance, people, and immigration and investment indices. Respondents also praised Canada for its culture and friendliness.
Ipsos is not the only organization to publish a nation index. Earlier in the year, Canada was named #1 on an analysis project headed by U.S. News. The report surveyed over 17,000 people from across the world, using 76 country attributes. The attributes were grouped into 10 main sub-rankings:
Survey respondents were asked to identify how closely they associated an attribute with each nation.
