Ontario’s Human Capital Stream hosts a collection of immigration pathways within the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP).
Ontario’s Human Capital Priorities stream uses the Express Entry system to search for profiles that help meet the province’s labour market or demographic needs.
The stream holds draws throughout the year, where they target a CRS range and set of occupational codes, and invite candidates to apply for the chance to be nominated for Canadian permanent residence.
In addition to meeting stream-specific criteria, candidates must have an active Express Entry profile and meet the following requirements:
Upon receiving a nomination from Ontario, candidates receive an additional 600 points toward their CRS score, essentially guaranteeing an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence.
Ontario is by far Canada’s most popular destination for newcomers to Canada. About 50% of all new immigrants chose Ontario as their intended destination. Ontario’s Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) provides an attractive option for candidates interested in living and working in the province.
Ontario continues to steadily increase its yearly immigration quotas and has asked the federal government to double the number of newcomers who can come through the OINP.
With increased federal immigration targets, and more efficient processes in place, now is the best time to begin an application for Canadian permanent residence.
