Saskatchewan Invites 43 Candidates Through Entrepreneur Stream

Published on: September 9th, 2022

In recent Canadian immigration news, Saskatchewan immigration held a new Entrepreneur Stream draw on September 1st. There were a total of 43 invitations issued. The highest Expression of Interest (EOI) was 130 and the lowest EOI was 75.

The Saskatchewan Entrepreneur stream is one of the streams of the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP), a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), operated by the province of Saskatchewan. This stream is designed to target experienced business owners or senior business managers who want to live in Saskatchewan. Successful applicants must start a new business or buy an existing business in which they participate in the day-to-day management duties.

Saskatchewan prioritizes three selection factors to separate candidates with the same score on the Entrepreneur stream points grid.

The three factors, in order of priority, are:

  1. Official language ability.
  2. Those with businesses planned for a critical economic sector that will be of economic benefit for Saskatchewan.
  3. Completion of an exploratory visit.

The expression of interest must meet the following minimum entry requirements:

  • Have a minimum net worth of $500,000 (CAD)
  • Have a minimum of three years of entrepreneurial or relevant management experience gained in the past ten years.
  • Investment of at least $300,000 in Regina or Saskatoon, or $200,000 in any other area of Saskatchewan.
