IRCC’s Improved Processing Time Information

Published on: October 17th, 2025

Thanks to new features on IRCCs processing tool, processing times are more accurate than ever before. This update provides a clearer understanding of application status on a case-by-case basis.

Have you ever experienced uncertainty waiting for an update on your immigration or citizenship application, unsure if or when your application will be processed? With Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada’s (IRCC) new and improved features, you do not have to feel that way anymore.

New IRCC Processing Tool

Accurate Processing Time: With the new update, the tool allows you to input the date you submitted your application and in turn, it will generate an estimated processing time tailored specifically to your situation. For many, this is a very useful feature as it provides applicants with the necessary information to plan accordingly during the waiting period.

Queue Lineup: Standing in a line without knowing how many people are ahead of you or how long the wait will be is daunting. That was the experience many faced with the previous IRCC processing times tool. The updated version now tells you exactly how many applicants are ahead of yours in the queue which helps set more realistic expectations about your expected processing timeline.

Insights for Specific IRCC Applications

Currently, this new processing time update is available for most applications, including all Express Entry, Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), Family Sponsorship, Atlantic Immigration Program, and citizenship applications. However, sponsorship applications for dependent and/or adopted children are not yet part of this update, though they may be included soon.

These updates make the immigration process more predictable, reducing the uncertainty of the lengthy wait times. At Canadim, we will make sure your application is submitted on time, with all the required documents to prevent any errors or delays. In addition, we will submit your application on your behalf, giving you peace of mind as you move forward in the application process.
