Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)
Ontario held a new round of invitations on December 7. The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) has now issued a total of 5,331 invitations under its three Employer Job Offer streams so far in 2021.
The OINP invited a total of 1,186 candidates with profiles in the Expression of Interest (EOI) pool. Candidates invited qualified under the Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker stream or the Employer Job Offer: International Student stream.
Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker stream
An additional 33 candidates were invited under the Regional Immigration Pilot candidates with no minimum score requirement.
Employer Job Offer: International Student stream
Another 37 candidates were invited under the Regional Immigration Pilot program with no minimum score requirement.
Employer Job Offer: In-Demand Skills stream
This draw targeted candidates in health, manufacturing and agricultural occupations. A separate draw was also held in which 10 candidates under the Regional Immigration Pilot program were invited.
Ontario’s Foreign Worker program is an Employer Job Offer stream operated by the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). The stream targets foreign nationals with skilled work experience and a valid job offer from an Ontario employer.
Eligible candidates must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) profile through OINP’s e-Filing Portal. Eligible candidates will be invited to apply for provincial nomination. Successful nominees may submit a federal application for Canadian permanent residence.
The International Student stream targets recent graduates with a Canadian educational credential with a valid job offer from an Ontario employer.
Candidates must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) profile to Ontario’s e-Filing Portal for the chance to be invited to apply for nomination, and eventually, Canadian permanent residency.
In-Demand Skills targets foreign nationals who have Ontario work experience in one of the province’s in-demand occupations and hold valid a job offer from an Ontario employer.
Eligible candidates must submit an Expression of Interest profile through Ontario’s online portal. In-Demand Skills draws have not yet targeted a minimum score since they began in July 2021.
Ontario uses a ranking system to assign a score to Expression of Interest (EOI) profiles and determine who receives an invitation in EOI draws. The points system used will depend on the stream that a candidate qualifies under. For example, the International Student ranking system places more emphasis on education, while the Foreign Worker ranking system places more emphasis on work.
