Candidates invited in Ontario’s tech draw had identified their primary National Occupational Classification (NOC) code as one of Ontario’s six targeted tech professions:
Tech draw candidates were required to have at least one year of continuous paid full-time work experience in one of the above occupations. To be considered in a Human Capital Priorities stream draw, tech candidates must also have a bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D., and a minimum of CLB 7 or higher in each area of the language exam.
All candidates must also have legal status in Canada (if applying from within the country) and intend to reside in Ontario upon becoming a permanent resident
If a candidate meets the requirements for either of the above draws they may be issued a Notification of Interest (NOI) of their Express Entry profile.
Ontario’s Human Capital Stream hosts a collection of immigration pathways within the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP), including the Human Capital Priorities and French-Speaking streams.
Both streams use the Express Entry system to search for profiles that help meet the province’s labour market or demographic needs.
The streams holds draws throughout the year, where they target a CRS range and/or set of occupational codes, and invite candidates to apply for the chance to be nominated for Canadian permanent residence.
In addition to meeting stream-specific criteria, candidates applying through the Human Capital Priorities or French-speaking streams must have an active Express Entry profile and meet draw-specific criteria.
Upon receiving a nomination from Ontario, candidates receive an additional 600 points toward their CRS score, essentially guaranteeing an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence.
