New OINP Employer Online Portal

Published on: June 17th, 2025

Starting July 2, 2025, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) is launching a new online Employer Portal, replacing the old paper-based system. This change affects individuals applying through Employer Job Offer streams. If you’re already in the process, this will impact people in the Foreign Worker Stream, International Student Stream, and in the In-Demand Skills Stream.

Applicant-led vs. Employer-led process

Previously, you were required to create an Expression of Interest (EOI) and start the process yourself. However, with the new online system, employers will take the first step by submitting details about the job through the online Employer Portal. This will make the application process easier and more efficient for all parties involved.

With the new online portal, everything will be connected to your “My Ontario” account, eliminating the need for paper forms. Some fields on the form will be automatically filled in, reducing the need for you to repeatedly enter the same information. Through this new online process, your employer will manage all communications, so your only task will be to check the status of your application which will be super easy given the convenience of online access.

Important Dates

It is important to note that from June 20 to July 2, 2025, you won’t be able to create any new EOIs. So, if you’ve already started an EOI application all current EOIs under the Employer Job Offer streams will be automatically cancelled on June 21st and 22nd.

From June 27th until the 29th, 2025, the OINP system will be temporarily down, and you won’t be able to access anything. Following this period, on July 2, 2025, the new Employer Portal will open.

Once the portal is live, your employer can then submit job details, and you will be able to re-register your EOI, which will be valid for 12 months and eligible to use for future draws.

Next Steps

If you have an EOI, you must work with your employer to re-register once the new portal is live so that you are ready to re-submit everything on July 2, 2025. Contact us at Canadim to help you best prepare and advise you on submitting or resubmitting an EOI.
