PROVINCIAL NOMINEEONTARIO IMMIGRANT NOMINEE PROGRAM – FRENCH-SPEAKING SKILLED WORKER

You may be eligible for the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream if you are a French-Speaking skilled worker with strong English language abilities and want to live and work permanently in Ontario. You may not apply directly to this stream, you must have received a Notification of Interest from Ontario to be eligible.

CANDIDATE ELIGIBILITY

Meeting the criteria listed below does not guarantee a nomination or permanent residence.

 

As a candidate, you must:

  • Be in the Express Entry pool
  • Provide language test results demonstrating French language proficiency of at least CLB 7 in all language abilities and English language proficiency of at least CLB 6 in all language abilities.
    • Tests can be no more than two years old.
  • Have at least one year of continuous, full-time (or part-time equivalent)work experience in a single occupation classified as National Occupational Classification (NOC) Skill Type 0 or Skill Level A or B. Your work experience must be:
    • Either within the past five years from the date you received the Notification of Interest
    • Or in Canada within the past three years from the date you received the Notification of Interest
  • Have a post-secondary credential (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree)
  • Demonstrate that you meet minimum income requirements and/or settlement funds to support yourself and your family in Ontario.
    • Minimum income requirements are set by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
  • Demonstrate that you intend to live in Ontario permanently.

INELIGIBLE CANDIDATES

Individuals in the following circumstances are not eligible for the OINP French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream:

  • Those who have not received a Notification of Interest from Ontario
  • Refugee claimant in Canada
