INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS GET SECOND CHANCE TO STAY IN CANADA

Canada’s immigration minister Marco Mendicino has announced a new policy that would allow former international students whose Post Graduate Work Permit (PGWP) has expired to apply for an open work permit. [Read more]

CANADA REVERTS TO CONTROVERSIAL LOTTERY METHOD FOR 2020 PARENTS AND GRANDPARENTS PROGRAM

On January 5, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) began issuing invitations to those who applied for the Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP) in 2020. The 2020 PGP intake was originally going to accept 21,000 candidates, however, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this number was reduced to only 10,000. [Read more]

SASKATCHEWAN INVITES 385 CANDIDATES IN FIRST PNP DRAW OF 2021

On January 7th, Saskatchewan held its first provincial nominee program draw of the new year. The prairie province extended 385 invitations to candidates who fall under the International Skilled Worker category of the SINP, through the Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand streams. [Read more]

QUEBEC RESUMES PROCESSING OF CAQ APPLICATIONS

Quebec’s Ministère d’Immigration, Francisation et Intégration (MIFI) has announced that it will resume the processing of CAQ applications submitted by international students. The processing of these applications had been suspended due to an ongoing investigation into the operations of 10 private colleges. [Read more]

MANITOBA HOLDS FIRST PNP DRAW OF 2021: 272 CANDIDATES INVITED

On January 14th, Manitoba held its first provincial nominee program draw of the new year. The province issued 272 invitations to candidates through the Skilled Workers in Manitoba, International Education, and Skilled Workers Overseas streams of the MPNP. [Read more]
