Province of New Brunswick is Now Searching the Express Entry Pool for Eligible Candidates

New Brunswick will begin issuing Letters of Interest directly to candidates in the Federal Express Entry pool who meet the eligibility requirements of the NBPNP Express Entry Labour Market Stream. The selection of these candidates will be motivated by the current labour-market demands of the Atlantic province.

Free Assessment

The New Brunswick Express Entry Labour Market Stream has historically operated on an Expression of Interest (EOI) system. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria must have an active profile created in the Federal Express Entry pool, and then electronically submit an EOI to the province. The NBPNP occasionally pauses intake of new EOI’s and does not publish when they will open to accept new submissions. This can make the application process harder to navigate for those without an immigration representative constantly monitoring their file.

Fortunately, New Brunswick has announced they will begin searching the Express Entry pool for profiles that match the requirements of the NB Express Entry Labour Market Stream. If your profile meets the eligibility criteria, and responds to the demographic and labour needs of the province, you may be selected to submit a complete application for provincial nomination!

By inviting candidates directly, those who have not submitted an EOI to New Brunswick will still be considered, and still have a chance at securing a nomination. With a provincial nomination, candidates will receive 600 additional points towards their Comprehensive Ranking System score, making them extremely competitive for receiving an invitation to apply for permanent residence in the next draw!

Am I Eligible?

To be eligible for New Brunswick’s Express Entry Labour Market Stream, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Must have an active Express Entry profile
  • Must be currently living and working in New Brunswick
  • Must be working in a position at NOC Code 0, A or B
  • Must hold a valid Canadian work permit
  • Must have valid language test scores in either English or French equal to Canadian Language Benchmark Level 7 (CLB 7)
  • Must have an Educational Credentials Assessment (ECA) equivalent to a Canadian High School Diploma

Greater Chances at Permanent Residence with an Active Express Entry Profile

As more immigration streams become aligned with the Federal Express Entry system, creating a profile and getting into the applicant pool means a better shot at securing that invitation to apply for Canadian immigration, both federally and provincially. Becoming competitive in the pool and ensuring your best chances at a provincial nomination have never been more important. As Canada plans to welcome over one million newcomers in the next three years, now remains the best time to begin the process!
