BC Holds New PNP Draws

Published on: February 9th, 2022

British Columbia issued a new round of invitations to potential nominees on February 8, 2022. In its newest draws, BC invited 198 international graduates and workers to apply for provincial nomination.

The February 8 draw invited candidates eligible under the British Columbia Nominee Program’s  five Skills Immigration and Express Entry streams,

  • SI – Skilled Worker
  • SI – International Graduate
  • SI – Entry Level and Semi-Skilled
  • EEBC – International Graduate
  • EEBC Skilled Worker

The British Columbia Skills Immigration Stream is a collection of immigration pathways within the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP).

British Columbia’s nominee streams offer a pathway to Canadian permanent residence for workers and graduates that wish to settle in the province. Most BCPNP Skills Immigration programs require candidates to hold a valid job offer with a BC employer.

Once again, British Columbia held a separate draw for candidates with experience in NOC codes 0621 and 0631, targeting a higher points requirement. BC implemented these draws for the purpose of balancing labour market needs across sectors in the province. As labour market needs evolve, draw requirements may change.

Targeted BC PNP draw: 10 invitations

This draw invited candidates with experience in occupational codes 0621 (Retail and wholesale trade managers) and 0631 (Restaurant and food service managers).

Express Entry BC categories (EEBC) minimum SIRS score:

  • Skilled Worker: 120
  • International Graduate: 120

BC Skills Immigration categories minimum SIRS score:

  • Skilled Worker: 120
  • International Graduate: 120

General BC PNP draw: 188 invitations

The following BC PNP draw targeted all other NOC codes.

Express Entry BC categories (EEBC) minimum SIRS score:

  • Skilled Worker: 120
  • International Graduate: 106

BC Skills Immigration categories minimum SIRS score:

  • Skilled Worker: 110
  • International Graduate: 96
  • Entry-level and semi-skilled: 77

How do BC PNP EOI draws work?

Candidates that meet the requirements for BC’s Skilled WorkerInternational Graduate, or Entry Level and Semi-Skilled Worker pathways can submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to the province. Once a candidate creates an EOI profile, they are ranked by the province’s Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) and given a “SIRS” score. The highest-ranking candidates will receive an invitation from BC to apply for nomination. After receiving an invitation, candidates have 30 days to prepare and submit their online application to the province. Nominated candidates are then invited to apply to the federal government for Permanent Residence.

When is the next BC PNP draw?

The BC PNP usually holds nominee draws every Tuesday evening. Each week, BC alternates between general draws and BC PNP Tech draws.

The next BC PNP draw is expected on February 15th, 2022, targeting BC PNP Tech candidates.
