Spotlight on Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) Candidates
This recent Express Entry draw was exclusively for candidates who had been nominated through the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). The PNP allows Canadian provinces and territories to select individuals from a pool of applicants wishing to immigrate and settle in a specific region.
In this draw, 125 Invitations to Apply (ITA) were issued to PNP candidates, with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 784.
Comparison with Previous PNP-Specific Draw
In the prior PNP-specific Express Entry Draw #346, 277 ITAs were granted to PNP candidates, with a minimum CRS score of 726. Compared to the previous round, fewer candidates received ITAs, and the CRS score threshold was higher. This increase in score and decrease in ITAs was expected, given the recent tighter immigration targets set by the Canadian government.

The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) is a key pathway for individuals aiming to immigrate to Canada. It enables provinces and territories to nominate people who wish to settle in a specific region. Each province and territory has its own PNP streams tailored to different groups, such as skilled workers, international graduates, and entrepreneurs.
To begin the PNP process, select the province or territory where you want to live and apply directly to their program. After receiving a nomination, you can proceed to apply for permanent residency through Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

Number of Candidates in the Current Express Entry Pool
The IRCC updates the number of people in the Express Entry pool a few days before an invitation round takes place. Numbers change as new profiles are submitted, profiles expire or are issued an ITA.
